Terrible that she had to make such a painful announcement. She did very well to hold her self together and not break down. I wish her well.
Not a big fan of the royals, but the ghouls who've spent the last few months speculating and spreading rumour on social media about a private medical matter should hang their heads in shame, along with the media who instead of ignoring the speculation chose to highlight it and give it oxygen. Their actions forced a young women into making a statement she clearly didn't want to and shouldn't have had to make about a deeply private matter.
I don't think it just social media. I think general news outlets are as much to blame. I have just watched the news about it tonight and they keep harping on about privacy for them and then go on to repeat what they have just said and bring in loads of others to give their opinion. Privacy, don't make me laugh. I just wish they would leave them alone ( and this is coming from an anti royalist).
Heard other day that staff at the hospital treating her had tried accessing her files, the Hospital released a statement saying anyone found guilty of doing so without cause will be dealt with. My first thought was papers paying them?
It's really good she's shared her bad news like Charles did. It will do so much good driving awareness and more people getting checked. Thoughts with William too that two of the people he loves the most have such a dreadful disease at the same time.
The Sky News anchor, stood outside their house, was interviewing someone onscreen and said that Kate had asked for privacy, so did the interviewee think the press would give them that. The interviewee should have said “well you’re stood on their doorstep love, so it doesn’t look like it!”
She might not have wanted to yet. Or ever. But the way she's been hounded (as we've witnessed with others before...) is disgraceful. Such an horrible disease
I'm very far from being a Monarchist. However, when it comes to a diagnosis of cancer, all bets are off. This puts her and Charles in the same boat as me, a boat we didn't choose and would like to be out of. It's the great leveller. I sincerely hope they both ride the storm and come out safe at the other side of it. One positive to grab is that with their openness they can do a lot of good by raising awareness and changing people's attitudes to cancer.
Also not a massive fan of the royals but alternative is worse anyone for a President Boris god forbid. What William going through as a fellow human being is horrendous especially Kate a young mum let's hope for the best.
