Accident at Barugh Green

Avoid if anyone going that way. Hopefully its not as bad its sounds

Barnsley Community Members reporting:

Major incident at Barugh Green cross roads (lights). Multiple cars, all emergency services in attendance including Air ambulance. Avoid the area.

 

Just been hearing about that. Sounds absolutely horrific…..

 

Just read unfortunately 2 people have lost there lives and apparently driver who caused it ran from the scene hopefully if its true that the driver ran hopefully they are found asap

 

Can only mean gone through the lights at red

 

Hopefully a death by dangerous driving charge and a decent spell inside when they catch him. The number of people now that drive with no regard for others safety and no respect for the fact that they are in control of a 2 ton lump of metal that can kill people is getting out of control. And why are they always the one that survives.

 

Sadly becoming all too a regular occurance, see lots of people just blatantly doing it or those that have loads of time to stop on Amber suddenly accelerating at crazy speeds and going through seconds after going red.

Thoughts with the families sad indeed.

 

Seven people in hospital too, must have been a horrible incident.

Was stuck in traffic on the 62 towards Manchester today, because someone had driven the wrong way down it, hitting someone head on (early hours of morning). I have no idea how some minds function. Think the mindless bloke died, and the other unlucky driver is in hospital.

Looks horrendous, thoughts with those who have tragically lost their lives and wishing a speedy recovery to the people injured.

That doesn't look like a standard 'jump the lights' to me. You would expect a side swipe outcome from that but those are all head on and multiple cars. My guess is that the moron was hooning through the lights at a utterly wreckless speed to do that kind of damage and didn't give a second thought for anyone around him. It's basically manslaughter in my book.

 

Yes that was my thought, for that level of damage a high speed level must have been involved.

 

Stolen Range Rover is what’s being said but don’t think that’s been stated officially. Terrible….

 

Just got to hope that the Police can find him. Can't be allowed to go unpunished.

 

Horrendous. My thoughts are with all the victims & their family & friends.

No one should be speeding there on a junction so close to houses & businesses.

 

Very tragic if the rumours that the driver ran off has he/she been caught?

I think anyone involved in RTA death gets arrested automatically. I’ve always said best way to murder someone is with a car, if you can make it look “accidental” you’ll get 5-10 years max.
