Good post Imo we haven't looked good enough all season the footballs been boring and dull compared to last season. The defending a 2 goal lead against good sides has cost us twice posh and Bolton. And I think after the Bolton one he's lost the players too.
You have to remember that a large majority replying to JAQ on twitter are thick ***** who have no brain to think of a constructive arguement so lash out with abuse and obscene language. The daft ***** wouldn't dare say the same to her or anyone else faces. When challenged they respond with more abuse.
We go 2 up then stick everyone behind the ball and try defend the lead they equalise we lose on pens.
I would say 71 points is excellent, rather than “not disastrous” but I guess that’s semantics. I would imagine he’s doing about par for our budget. But following the upheaval he had to deal with I think that’s okay.
Thought so, what can poor old Neil be expected to do without anyone that's ever played in defence before.
Any manager in this league would love to have these players at their disposal at this level: Roberts Cadden Williams Earl Kane Connell Phillips Cole McAtee we have gone backwards in all areas. Fish rots from the head.
Much of the squad is the same as last season. The key difference is obviously our central defence, which is nowhere near as good as last season. We have also missed Norwood and his ability to rough up and annoy opposing defenders.
Statistically/positionally the Reds are having a decent season. I think that's the main reason why some people still support Collins wholeheartedly. However (and not having a knee-jerk reaction) its patently obvious to me that the players are being coached poorly. There are enough decent players in this squad to turn up and play motivated, attacking fluid football but week after week its dull, disjointed (and I would say nervous) uninspiring crap. The team, many of them here last season, play without passion, dont make runs, dont support, only show intermittent flashes and make errors because their confidence is poor and they're unsure of themselves. Goals, if they come, come out of the blue, not because there's an expectation that goals are imminent. This, in my view is all down to poor coaching. So, yes the club are in a decent position but what I see on the pitch is very poor football, its not improving and I suspect it wont under this coach. He's not getting the best out of the team and should, at least at the end of the season, be relieved of his position as long as there is a genuine, proven potential replacement available. So, the statistics say the team must be quite good, but lots of fans, me included, think that's not the case and that the stats are concealing major faults largely down to poor coaching.
We're in the play offs despite Collins not because of him. Blokes clueless the Bolton game told us that.
It’s sad to hear so many people saying they won’t renew, or are certainly considering it. I’m in the same boat I’m afraid, and I can’t believe I’m saying it. But the home games are a chore. Neither me or my son were looking forward to todays game (both predicted draws) but we dutifully turned up and wondered why we had bothered. When the 2nd goal went in, we looked at each other and without even having to say anything, both got up to leave. Collins was disgraceful today. No plan B (I still haven’t totally worked out what Plan A is to be honest). No urgency, no motivational skills, totally risk averse. That team should absolutely wallop the likes of Cambridge and Cheltenham at home. I can live with not being good enough, but to die wondering like we are doing as our season fizzles out, is frustrating to put it mildly. I said walking out of the ground I’m done while Collins remains in post. Now I’ve had a few hours to calm down……. I’m still done. People can come on here honking their “better fan” klaxons if they want, I don’t care. Even when we’re winning (which isn’t often these days), I’m bored sh1tless at the games. I won’t even bother with the play off games. We’ll get ripped a new one whoever we end up facing.
"Goals, if they come, come out of the blue, not because there's an expectation that goals are imminent." More goals than under Duff though.
Yep and more statistics. The level of performance, the consistency and application on the pitch is as I've said though. The team is poor and I stand by what I've said. Duff, I believe would have had this team playing much better, tighter and more committed but obviously I can't prove that (in fact I can't prove owt cos its all just my opinion )
So Duff would have a worse team than last year scoring more and conceding fewer than he actually had a better team doing last year?
It is opinion I agree... but what is not opinion is that Collins (despite his faults) has produced more goals than Duff... learnt how to win after going behind, and all with a defence that is individually mistake ridden..to an almost comical degree... no-one can say that this year's defensive players even come close to those available to Duff.
