    I think not.
Love um or loathe um Wednesday showed what can be achieved when they overturned Posh in the semi final.I hope our fans rally the same and I'm sure they will.
Talk of not buying season tickets or sacking the manager is for another day not when we're close to the business end.
If we go up it'll be because we deserve to if we don't we also end up where we deserve to.It's not the end of the world the club is obviously planting roots for the future and I would hope the vast majority o.f fans will be on the journey forward.
The trenches need to be manned not people who run away at the first sign of a bullet

Hooh rah. I agree btw. I have my moments but one thing I instill in people when talking about football is you don't have a devine right to win. You pay your money to watch a game of football with two teams playing. The result might ruin your day but you've seen a game of football.

The bit I saw yesterday resembled football in the sense that the ball was round. The point remains the same. I wasn't entertained in the slightest. Consequently my Dad fell asleep.

Everyone’s opinions are valid. I just don’t get the fans who actually would prefer it if the club lost so they can say, I told you so. Being a fan of Barnsley is, has and always will be a rollercoaster ride, you buy your ticket and you take your chance. I would rather support no other team, as Barnsley are the greatest team the world has ever seen. Well said BMW!

I don't think there's a single Barnsley fan who wants us to lose so they can say I told you so

I’ll always be there while ever I’m able like I have been since 73. It’s in my DNA and that’s not likely to change.
Doesn’t stop me criticising the coach or the club when I feel it’s deserved though. Collins’ style of play has bored me rigid despite the league position. Our home form is more akin to a side flirting with the drop than one trying to get promotion.
That said, he’s not been helped by some dreadful recruitment. Signing three right wing backs, any number of random centre halves plucked from obscurity and then three strikers with zero pedigree had alarm bells ringing from the start.
Massive summer ahead. Have I faith we’ll get it right? In all honesty no but I live in hope.

I think some fans like Barnsley to fail because they want certain things to happen and for the board to take decisive action. I dont think they're bad fans at all but they're so fed up that they actually want things to get worse so they'll eventually end up better

Is that based purely on a random guess or on any kind of evidence?

Some common sense at last. I swear some people on here are going to let the Collins situation ruin their Easter Weekend! It's ******* ludicrous :D

Whilst I’m far from happy with our recent form, the analogy with Wednesday should show fans that it’s not over.
This time last year Wednesday were starting their meltdown - having been in the top two all season. We all know how that ended.
The play offs are a lottery, but Lincoln, good form and all would love to be in our position.
I don’t think we are anywhere near good enough for the Championship, but there’s a chance of going up and then we worry about that.

I think it’s mainly down to our home form. If we had been formidable at home this season, then say, only had half the away success, I don’t think we’d be seeing anywhere near the level of all the unsatisfaction and in some cases resentment we currently see and hear. Most fans travel little or not at all, therefore haven’t seen many wins ( on Saturdays)

Collins is part but not the whole of the problem of Barnsley FC. While ever the process of recruiting players consists of looking at a data spreadsheet and signing the players with the best stats we can afford without a thought to the actual needs of the squad and whether they'd improve it whoever is coach will need to work miracles like Stendal Val and Duff did.
But Collins doesn't help himself with the turgid playing style he's got the team playing. I actually think to mitigate out clear defensive frailty we'd be better going all out attack like Stendal and Val teams did and go at teams both while with and without possession of the ball.
What would also help any of the coaches Barnsley FC employed would be if the recruitment team signed players with intention to make Barnsley FCs squad better immediately and not to make the likes of Luton Town or Coventry's squads better about 2 years after we've signed them and turned them into Professional footballers but not had a real on field benefit for it before cashing in.

Yes, scattergun recruitment is a real problem. There needs to be some serious boardroom thinking in the summer and some genuinely focused buying of players. Whoever the coach is should also have a significant impact. The team formation and tactics relative to the squad skill set needs focus too. If its scattergun again we're in for a tough season next year regardless of who the coach is.

No Barnsley fan wants to see the team fail. Utterly nonsensical to suggest that they do.

Supertyke wants us to lose so that Collins is sacked.
