Interesting that the article is dated 2nd June 2024.

We almost waterlogged our own pitch a few years ago, when one of the sprinklers wouldn't turn off properly. Grounds staff had to bring out something that looked like a giant bog roll and push it around over the affected area until it was dry enough.

We'll probably put the sprinklers on again today, raining or not...

I'm not exactly nearby but 25 miles away it's rained a bit, but it's been far from a deluge as described in that article. Would need to rain a bit harder and for longer for it to be called off today I'd have thought

I seriously doubt that the match will be postponed, it's been mostly dry for the last week and the Trent looks like it's peaked and is going down now. The ground is almost a mile from the river and the flood defences have been improved over the last year.

Just set ifollow up and the pitch has a bit off green on it. I suspect Cosgrove will start then.

Our pitch looks amazing again. But the absolute state of the part just off the pitch in front of the east stand shows how easily it can be ruined.

I think those patches are from the wheels on that pitch uva light/heat thing they use.

Ive never seen them in previous years but it's awful this season. If it is from those rigs then it shows how much work they put into the pitch because where the other wheel goes there isn't a mark

Aye, for some reason I thought we were at home again. Thank God we're not. :D
