Back in our Premier League season, there was a Fantasy Football League being run at the Stocksbridge Steel Works. Someone called their team Just Like Watching Big Lil, so I unashamedly pinched the name!

John Peachey was one of the strikers at the club when I started watching in 74/75 season. I always liked the word "peachy" & it seemed an idea to mis spell his name, as my user name.

alright m'sieur, I went off backpacking in the seventies. I didn't have a plan. I stayed a bit too long in Sydney. Got a girl, a fooitball team, a job. I just drifted into a new life, though being a Barnsley man defines me, even still. I was Mick In Oz at first.... It could have been Michael In Aus (gedit?)

It's just 'horse and cart' in a Barnsley accent isn't it?

Used to live near the Menai bridge in Wales. Don’t anymore but don’t think Junction Tyke would make any sense to most people now.

    I believe it was actually barnsleyfc.co.uk ?
I've just gone on the way back machine and earliest link was 12th December 1998. That is the official site, and a link to a BBS much like this (threaded). Posts on it date from 2000.

I have memories of an email system, not sure if I used that. Then the BBS about the time of the premier league or shortly after.

    At this time, posts included
