Cancel that he was only there a month and he joined Scunthorpe where he still is.

Sorry to be pedantic but he is a Rodger. His parents obviously though Roger was too common for their boy

Roger Wylde sounds like the stage name of a second rate porn star. Not quite as famous as Ben Dover but always available for work...

I had the pleasure of working with the CFO of Halifax who was Roger Boyes. His parents really should have thought that one through.

Bit of a loose cannon. Would do the stuff that Dover wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

A woman said something quite odd
She thought all her kids came from God
    But it wasn’t the Almighty
    who crept up her nightie
It was Roger the Lodger, the sod

Love Rodger Wylde. That period after he came back, following his cancer treatment, and was knocking them in for fun was just brilliant. Those 2 goals against Plymouth to put us momentarily top of the league.

I almost met him in around 1991 when I was doing my nurse training in Liverpool and was doing my orthopaedic placement. I was on a late and at handover one of the patients I was given to look after was a young Stockport County apprentice, who had broken his leg. When I went to see him to introduce myself we were chatting about football and I asked if Rodger Wylde was still club physio at Stockport. He said yes and that I’d just missed him, as he had been with him and left just as we were in handover. D’oh!
