The DOF seems a top bloke, Donovan Pines has really bought into the town and club…….the other guy (forget his name) gave a real good account of the club, I’ve met him before and had a good chat but tonight I probed him again…….he was full of praise for the manager, says he’s a real top bloke, shows a genuine interest in every person at the club……I actually met Collins a few months ago at a low key guest speaker evening and I warmed to him very quickly, there’s no bull **** or out, just a genuine bloke……wether we go up, get in playoffs, don’t get in playoffs is happily see this guy here next year……we have to back him and give him time to build his own team too…….given that we’re still 5th with a team he inherited too then a think he’s done relatively well……..the players have underperformed recently and need to be accountable……,

Great seeing the reception Pines got when he was walking round in front of the Ponty

Collins might be a nice bloke and might not spout ******** but he’s not a very good head coach. Saying it isn’t his team is a bit rich given how many have been brought in, and I’d be devastated to see him in the dugout come august.

He won't be able to build his own team as
    (A) it's a results business and he'll be gone before Xmas if results carry on and looking at what we'll lose player wise in the summer he'd need 2 windows minimum.
    (B) Recruitment is out of his hands, the Recruitment team will identify the players and if said players fit the model and represent good business they'll be signed.

I haven't a problem with data driven recruitment and a recruitment team bringing players to the club but that's where their involvement needs to stop and Neil Collins or whoever is the Head coach plays how he wants and if he thinks dependent on the opposition he wants to set us up however he wants to counter their strengths then so be it, instead of this one size fits all approach.

Sure he's a lovely bloke, but if he doesn't get us promoted he has to go.

And what if the head coach already has that remit?

How many times does it have to be repeated, including by different managers, that they are part of the recruitment process?

Regrettably I fear you are like King Canute. There has been a hardcore obsessed with getting rid of Collins pretty much from early season. That is reflected not just on the bbs but sadly down at Oakwell too. We wonder why our away results have been so much better than at home. We wonder why Earl has gone from being a masterly signing early in February to another apparent recruitment kock up now. People obsessed with hunting crocodiles…….!

Barry Cotter is clearly a great guy judging by the community award's he gets but he's a terrible footballer at this level

Well that’s worrying if them in charge like Collins. Probably means he’ll be here next season if we don’t go up.

Do head coaches at Barnsley still have much of a say in the transfers? Thought we used the spreadsheet model

Need to give him until Xmas at least.

We need continuity and a decent pre-season this summer - I can’t remember the last time we had that.

Look at Leeds, Leicester and Ipswich - all struggling recently. Some on TalkSport calling for Farke to go last night Posh got hammered 5-0 yesterday too.

It’s not always about the manager either, players have to take some responsibility too.

If he was on loan here would you want to sign him in the summer?

    Yes.

    We’re 5th.

In his first managerial role in English football.

With a squad about to be broken up again.

So we need continuity this summer with someone who knows the score already. Not starting from scratch in late August.

Can always make a change in October if needed - but we need that stability this summer.
