It's obvious innit......its for his quality Belgian contacts. Its a plan that worked so well in the past.......
Just because someone wanted Collins out, doesn't necessarily follow they expected this bloke as the solution. Are we really saying we couldn't afford/entice the likes of Grant McCann, Richie Wellens, Graham Alexander, even Damien Duff......yes, I did mean that one.
What a $hit appointment it would be, they deserve all the flack they get if true. Absolutely clueless, might aswel bring Khaled back Was it JAQ doing the interviewing and got swayed with the Austrian Women management experience?
If true it just shows the board have learnt nothing, & it’s not a good start for the new sporting director bloke. Just sell up ffs!
No more hiding for JAQ, Neerav and the like. If this fella is their choice then so be it, I can't say I'm pleased we've sacked Collins to appoint someone with an awful record but it is what it is. If this appointment ends up going disastrously wrong then serious questions will need asking of the owners.
Can't believe he's getting stick before he's even got the job He might turn out to be brilliant who knows?
We can't play a high press with this lot.. the defence plays a high line and to do that they need to be quick and pacey.. so not a prayer sorry
Don’t think Patrick ever brought in a non uk based manager. Stand to be corrected of course but I can’t recall one.
Agree if this comes to fruition.. then those that run this club have learned and know nothing about running a L1 football club.
We don't have a pot to piss in but how bad that really is none of us know. The wage bill needs reducing again for next season so we fall back in line with the L1 financial regulations, SCMP, so there's implications in that area. Assuming here we don't go up! Wasn't Collins on a 3 year contract? I'd assume his severance package is likely to be restricted to say 9 or 12 months salary so probably not a massive sum. However, why would any of the above managers/head coaches want to come to us given the way we've treat Collins? The timing of his sacking was a disgrace and was a ploy to flog more season tickets, but from a reputation perspective, in my opinion it leaves the club in quite a mess. I do have concerns about the financial position of the club so thought it unlikely we'd be paying compensation for a head coach currently employed elsewhere.
Nothing gets this board, or a certain percentage of it, more riled up to attack the BFC Board (and JAQ in particular), than a nice juicy, unproven rumor. Even if the rumor turns out to be true, the future impact of said rumor is totally unknown at this point.
Managers who have got us promotion in the last 6 years. Daniel Stendel (unknown foreigner) Managers who got us into the Championship play offs Valerian Ismael (unknown foreigner) Neither had any real track record or knowledge of the league. None of us know what attributes our current board look for in a manager, but it’s the same attributes they looked for in Duff and Collins, surely.
Blimey, I can’t believe that someone who hasn’t even got the job is coming in for so much stick, along with the board. Oh wait, yes I can. Nowt as fickle as a football fans
Id say ballax to the high press and this so called template we have with the formation etc we aren't Liverpool, man city and never will be...... Just play to the players strengths and appoint someone with an ounce of man management ability who can motivate, communicate and instill confidence in lower level players.
