Is there a legal reason why the club cannot do something like this? It would have some sort of effect, even if it was just some consolation for those who missed out on the parade.

There are a number of people on here who delight at running the club down at every opportunity and it's reached the point where I post on here far less than I used to but.....
The idea that they were going to be able to hold the POTY ceremony AFTER the game when it was obvious all the resident morons would be running all over the pitch was ridiculous. Who on earth is responsible for such a stupid idea?!

The club will probably reward them. Did they swear and abuse Devaney for sitting back, trying to defend a lead and only getting a draw? Bonus points if they did.

We seem to like to look after these people.

Sadly, the grown adults running onto the pitch at the end are probably the children and grandchildren of those who did it in the 90s, 80s and 70s as early teenagers; it's a problem that has been around for as long as I can remember and realistically it isn't going to go away. Unfortunately, morons will be morons. Having said that, on refelection it wasn't a good idea from the club to delay the player of the season award until after the match, particularly after putting out pre-match information asking supporters to be in their seats early, and clearly mentioning the player of the season awards (although not specifying a time, however it would be fair for fans to assume that they would take place prior to kick-off, as has been the case since the inception of the Boylin trophy in 1970).

They have committed a criminal offence so I’d doubt there is a reason they can’t. The police are allowed to when they suspect someone of criminality - when someone is standing on the pitch, with or without a smoke canister/pyro, it’s pretty cut and dried without investigation.

Do it, identify them, and offer them the choice of being named and shamed with a season ban, or anonymity and a life ban.

They will want that though. It's all over tiktok with 'fans' showing their own face on the pitch proudly doing whatever they want

It's so ******* embarasssing. The chants. Running on the pitch after scraping play offs after a draw against a team on the beach.

    Feel sick of embarrassment!

Many in the video and others online are easy to identify. Will we ban them from Oakwell like they should be? No we won't hear about it again and so they will do it again in the future. We are annual failures at punishing morons. We have even long since stopped doing announcements when the Pope and IRA song is sung.

The thing is. Same goes for all clubs they won't ban their fans or customers these days that line their pockets.

Agree about the song also. The most boring oldest song ever especially when we've had plenty of players from that side of the globe. It's always the same kind of people "young uneducated adults" mate

What they should have done was last night post as many photos of pitch invaders as possible on the official site with details on how to name them if you know who they are. Then get them all banned before the play offs from Oakwell permanently and involve the police to charge them and make sure any possible fine is paid for by them and not the club.

One thing I did appreciate though was that the little ball boys were all removed from pitch side 5 minutes before full time and sat in the West Stand. When I saw them all being rounded up, carrying their stool, I was glad someone had thought about the potential danger to them being caught up in a pitch invasion.

It’s got to the point now that they are turning up with the sole intention of running on the pitch purely because they’ve been asked not to. As long as they’re allowed to get away with it, it will continue.

Whatever punishment the club needs to dish out has my blessing.

Maybe it's reverse psychology. Club should spent 90' encouraging them to come on. They'd stay in the stands then

I've been on the pitch once. Premier league promotion season and that was prob after 15 mins celebrating in the stands. Absolutely momentous occasion but really don't get this on the pitch every year last match mentality.
