Bang same 2,163 amount. Hope the supporters trust or media like the Chronicle or Radio Sheffield ask the club about it. Tit for tat petty stuff it's the fans that suffer.

Is it possible that this is just a case of an advanced reciprocal agreement between the Clubs, rather than anything petty?

Neither team have every seat behind the goal they will be behind. That seems petty.

No idea. For whatever reason, one of the Clubs has decided on a number and the other has matched it. Seems fair enough.

The post Jay made yesterday was excellent. Football should be about the fans. Fans moan when kick off times are moved, but then are happy to see away followings reduced.

Why is preventing fans going to games when there are facilities to house them OK? There'll be young lads and lasses who live and breathe football who can't go because of this policy. And they may never get to see such a game again. Teams can go decades without doing anything at all. I'm fortunate enough to have started going to watch Barnsley a season or two before Alan Clarke became our manager so I've seen just about everything. But there are a generation of Barnsley fans who weren't around when we won the FA Cup but supported us all their lives, and died before it all got brilliant, who witnessed, well, not much at all. We're denying fans a special day when we could easily sell more tickets.

Isn’t this exactly what they did last season and tried to blame us then?

Why? Who gives a ****. Focus on more important issues, like a manager.

I'm not particularly saying it's OK. I'm saying I understand why if one Club, for whatever reason, has come up with a number of tickets they will release, then I can see why the other Club might agree to allocate the same.

No it really isn't possible that that is the case. In fact scenario 1 doesn't mean scenario 2 is t true

Because if you are locking innocent supporters out of the ground then it's a petty move especially if you've done it because you and the other club have both said you want to lock innocent fans out. Its about as petty as you can get.

You are giving our innocent fans 2000 tickets so we are only going to give your innocent fans 2000 tickets is petty it doesn't matter if the millionaire owners of both clubs agreed to it a year ago or a day ago it's still petty and treating football fans like ****

There are two tiers in the Bolton away end, they want to give their home fans the lower tier (why wouldn’t they), so we’re limited to the 2k, unfortunately for us we will never be in Boltons position as we can’t sell out Oakwell, the stadium is too big for us. So yes we’re the ones being petty, but then again Bolton would no shadow of a doubt fill the North stand if we gave them it, which would give them an advantage on the field in my opinion, so I kind of agree with the club on this.

    Twas us.
I'd have wanted as may fans at the away leg as possible. We had home advantage in the 2nd leg last year. So we hoped it would help. Reducing Bolton's allocation. Possibly did.
But now its turned round. They have home advantage in the second leg. Trouble is, there wont be an empty bottom tier. But more home fans roaring em on. Whilst we will have 4k empty seats.

Last season the away end at Bolton was sold out but the home end wasn't, which suggests the allocation is sub-optimal for revenue generation - the same as at Barnsley.
