Just thought whether we are awaiting the outcome of the playoffs as to who we look at, if we go up we might attract a better calibre of manager or coach than if we stay down! Maybe we have decided and nothing will be revealed until after our playoff adventure so not to distract our already distracted squad
If that was the case, then why did we sack Collins just before the play-offs? If we'd missed out, or lose in the play-offs, we can claim he didn't hit the targets and let him go. If we are promoted, we can replace him as "not the man to take us forward"....
I think they'd just announce it with a start date it would stop all the speculation and give some clarity to the situation, be of no benefit keeping it under wraps
I’d agree, but they’ve made things worse for themselves. If Collins had been left in post they could have sacked him if we failed to achieve promotion. I can only assume the players had down tools or gone behind his back. MDG used the phrase the other night saying that Devaney “knows how to talk to the players” and in a Yorkshire Post article I read to day Connell states that it’s “positive” that they’re starting the playoffs with a clean break. Whatever has happened we are now in a position where we are likely to be in League One again next year with a big rebuild to come, including the manager.
