With the level of toxicity floating around!!!! For those stopping away cos of whatever agenda you have then shame on you……..irrespective wether you like like the owners/board it’s the team you follow, a game of this magnitude should have the town buzzing, not on a Fuking downer!!!
I know what you mean, but it's genuinely difficult mustering much enthusiasm for this one. I've got a lot of time for Devaney, given the years he's given to our club, and desperately want him to succeed, but it's not easy trying to generate any excitement. I'll be there Friday and, funnily enough, given it would be Posh or Oxford, I'm more likely to go to Wembley if, by some miracle, we make the final. A trip there to face Attendnonce FC wouldn't have been the most enjoyable day out, but I can see a trip south for either of those sides being a decent crack, whatever the result.
There's no shame in people making a personal decision to not go to the game. There's plenty of reasons that I can think of that would make me not want to go. If you want to, that's great, and absolutely your choice. It's also the choice of those who wish to not go, to do precisely that. You mention toxicity, and the need to quell it, yet you come on here and throw the word "shame" around. You're either fishing, or you genuinely cannot see the irony within your post. Either way, it's totally unnecessary.
Nothing but the fault of them upstairs, they’ve got us into a right mess with their shocking stubborn recruitment, previous & current incompetent director of football/CEO’s, constant amateur hour sagas, including the FA Cup farce. And now this shower of **** manager fiasco. It’s no wonder folk are fed up!
I’ve just looked at the comments on a Facebook post the club shared today and it’s just moaning and miserableness. It just brings the whole mood down to their level. There might not be many of us on Friday but hopefully the ones who are there are supportive.
Shocking board Shocking manager National league players Worst team ever Quotes from our supporters from this season. Including a few meltdowns from myself but for all our problems, we are still in the play offs. If this is us at our worse, I'm feeling quite relaxed.
I'm sorry mate but I think you're wrong here solely blaming it on the fans that are staying away on Friday. You saw how quickly positivity can spread when Collins was (rightly or wrongly) sacked. We had sold out stands for the last game of the season and people were talking about the future again and who would be our next manager (not through anxious chatter but through optimism) Then we scraped through to the play offs thanks to other teams losing, we haven't got a manager in place for those play offs and the board lost their choice due to ignorance about work permits in this country. Just like that any positivity has disappeared. Can the fans be more supportive? 100% they can be, but a lot of them have valid reasons for their cautiousness and negativity. The clubs aren't helping themselves at all right now.
Using the the phrase ‘shame’ and then hurling abuse at the owners behind a computer are poles apart…….. Us fans were here a long time before the owners and will be here for a long time after they’ve gone too….. Can I ask, a you going Friday?
They’ve got us into the playoffs for a second year running. I’m not going to start crying because we started our season strongly and then petered out rather than the usual lose constantly and then scrape in on the last day. It’s still the same number of points at the end of the day, we might even do one better and actually get promoted this year.
I intend to get behind them at Oakwell and at Bolton and if nothing else, will be our last chance to see Macatee in a red shirt.
I backed us for the play-offs at the start of the season and put my money where my mouth is. I have been nothing but supportive of the players and manager all season. I have put it on the line on here, challenging all negativity and all calls for the manager's head to the point of being disliked. And then, with just one game to go, with (as it turns out) enough points already amassed to make the play-offs, our board sacked the manager. I'm sorry, but they can go ballacks
And to top it all off they sacked him with a replacement lined up, only to realise at the very last minute that the replacement couldn't get a work permit. We're run like a Sunday league club at times, genuinely embarrassing.
No, I can't afford it, otherwise I would be. We're going on holiday in a couple of weeks so everything's getting saved for spendo.
They weren't in the Championship at this point last season. They did go on a shocking run of form at the end of the season and the fans wanted the manager sacked though.
