Weak goalkeeping. Should have been stronger. We should have got a foul for Jalo having his short pulled or Phillips I think it was who was getting a cuddle from behind.

Obstruction yes, but the ref's not going to give it.

And.why didn't Roberts dodge to me side and go for the ball, instead of letting himself be bullied?

I’m not sure I understand this. He was obstructed as I think you agree.

hence he couldn’t get to the ball

The player's backing into him, so he should move to one side and go for the ball.

I didn't think it was personally, but I don't want to get in to an argument about it. I find it difficult to believe, having played my entire career as a defender and, at corners, defending the front post, that we had no one there to stop the ball before it could get to Roberts. I played football for 15 years and we never conceded a goal like that. 99 times out of a hundred, if a ball came in like that, I volleyed it over the nearest pit. And on the odd time I missed it, the Keeper got it, which I think Roberts should have done in this situation, no matter what the Bolton player was doing.

I can't see a foul there, Roberts has to be stronger for me. If we'd scored that goal I doubt anyone on here would think it was a foul.

No.mate. Just weak goalkeeping. move in front of the player rather than playing the victim of not being strong enough.

Definitely obstruction for me. Had any other team conceded that goal under VAR, I think it would have been chalked off.

Weak as pg tips goalkeeping. Simple as that. Not a foul at all. He did nothing other than stand his ground.

Naive defending too. If the oppo has someone on the keepers toes, you get him out of the way. Occupy him yourself.

Covering front and back stick generally helps too. Basics.

He didn't stand his ground, he backed the keeper into the net.

Watch the video again...one of their players has Phillips around the waist and shoved him to the right to prevent him jumping for the ball.

He didn't stand his ground..he backed into Roberts until he was shoved into the net.

It starts a yard or more from the line .

How does he move in front of the player who is backing into him with his arms outstretched?

Definitely a foul on the keeper. I also don’t think it was a penalty. All in all although I’d love to see us win 3-0 at their place, I don’t fancy another trip to watch us lose at Wembley. Start again next year, get the defence sorted and some pace in the team.
