Wonder what his future is withe the club. At the moment he's being used like a mop to clean up someone else's mess which is a shame for one who's shown such loyalty for so long.

He’s caretaker coach , he’ll no doubt revert to his assist post when we appoint a manager

I think that when we get a new Head Coach, he ought to be able to bring his own coaches in. I know that Devaney has been a loyal servant so a back room role ought to be found for him if he wants it but I am not sure he brings a lot to the first team.

Hopefully if he isn't chosen as the new manager, which barring an excellent 180 minutes of football he won't be, then he'll return to his regular role and stay at the club for years

I do hope he stays, he is brilliant with the young uns, but don't think he is a first team coach although i do think he is better than collins

I think he speaks very well, has some good lessons to teach about professionalism and mentality, but doesn’t really want and shouldn’t really be expected to step up permanently.

I want him to be part of the Club and community for many years to come. For that reason I dont want him to be given the managers job.

I don't want the club to treat Martin like it did with Eric Winstanley after Nigel Spackman was appointed.

He isn't hard done by. The loyalty returned by the club has afforded him a regular wage for years, help with his coaching badges and multiple caretaker roles. He's done more than alright out of the club.

The new man should be allowed to bring in whichever staff he wants and not be forced to work with people from the failed regime. Disco and Stead should both be let go.

I was quite young back then and it's a few years ago but I always thought Eric did a good job whenever he was caretaker manager.

    Based on?

Love Martin. I think he's a great stability for transition from when the kids move up the ranks.

He did, when Clarkie got the hook in 1989 the defence was a shambles leaking goals left right and centre, straight away Winnie got Mark Smith and Brian MCcord in on loan and steadied the ship for when Mad Mel took over.
His treatment by the club when Spackman was brought in was an utter disgrace.........sithi.

Ouch but probably true, although I would try to find a way of rewarding disco's loyalty.
