It’s more important we get competent players - George Graham couldn’t get clean sheets out of these defenders
We should've let Collins finish the season out as manager. He got us into the play offs and should've been given the chance to see his work through. If he failed then we sack him and get a manager in. What was a bit daft was sacking him 5 days before our final game of the season when we looked dead on for play offs anyway and either not having a replacement lined up or thoroughly checking all the paper work was viable and sorted for a replacement ready to come in.
Its arguable actually, he was sacked before the team were confirmed in the play offs. If you mean he was sacked while they were in a play off position youd be correct
Sacking Collins now looks every bit like an absolute act of desperation from the Board. 'We felt now was the right time for a change'. Except there was no change. No change at all. I genuinely feel for Devaney. He loves the Club and the Town, and I want him to be part of this Club for a long time. His record as head coach is woeful, but he's been put in tough situations twice. I really hope the fans don't turn on him. That would be absolutely horrible to see.
There are schoolboys that would make better attempts to tackle than our CBs. It's ******* embarrassing.
Imho...I think we have played better than of late....stay with me...Cozgrove has been very good, given Santos a lot to think about and suddenly he's not as commanding (funny that!). Bolton have been the best team and I have no complaints with scoreline...amazing hit from Collins but he should have been closed down. Their stats suggest they are very good at setpieces and that has shown...so far they haven't gone at us down the left and cadden has done ok. When we have possession our transition has been pretty good too...our obvious failure.... our defence and its insistence to give a minimum of 2 goals away per game. Bolton are a better team with better game management and better dark arts. I've been presently surprised we were pretty good that first 45.
I'm only discussing his first goal, i'd agree with the co-commentator, excellent strike to whip it in the front post - not much keeper did wrong.
just shows what a difference a few players and a decent coach make. We have possibly consigned ourselves to this league for the foreseeable future given that the whole squad is going to need to be rebuilt and we have next to no money. Next season will either be a gamble on promotion or mid table if we stick to our budget. unless we come out and win the second half 3-0
I wasn’t a Collins fan but he had earned the right but let’s not forget this is still his team of players that he put together.
He's been absolutely horrendous I've been a big fan at times this season but not at all bothered he'll be off now
