Incredible guy, never took a royalty off bands just a flat fee. Produced some of the most iconic music of the last 40 years and made ground breaking music too, a sad loss.

Brought the Manic Street Preachers out of their middle-aged slumber. Journal for Plague Lovers is one of the most underrated British albums ever.

RIP Steve. It was only earlier today I was looking at gig listings and considering Shellac at the Brudenell later this year. Once I've finished listening to The Orb and Dreadzone in advance of the gig on Saturday, I'll go through all his bands and have a listen.

The news broke 17 minutes after the Guardian posted that they were running a fan interview with him in advance of the new album.

Very sad news, I've got very fond memories of seeing Shellac at the Brudenell. Big Black were excellent aswell.

RIP Steve Albini. I loved his bands, but his production was immense too. This is one of the greatest tracks of all time for me.

If you want an Albini Track, this takes some beating. Serious riffing & angst.

    Sounds like Beefheart. Immense.

I'd say Surfa Rosa is my favourite rock album of all time. Still play it regularly all these years later.

Yes, my favourite of theirs. Doolitle is good in different ways, but not as raw and emotive.
