Cole Cadden and Kane said their goodbyes today none with a club lined up, Duff has been for a talk but will only return if he has full control. Maybe true but we have to start somewhere.

 

He'll not be coming then.....

Quite possibly. Do we all know what Duff's negotiating terms are though? I'm sure everyone at the club trying to get problematic deals done would rather we didn't. And for good reason.
That's IF Duff has even set foot in the place in the last twelve months.

Not surprised about Kane, Cole and Cadden leaving. A little bit surprised they don’t have clubs lined up. I would’ve thought Kane and Cole’s form in the first half of the season would’ve meant team were sniffing around January time to “agree” a deal for the summer.

There can’t be many managers in the football league these days that have “full control” so I’m not sure on that part. No chance we’ll give anyone full control I’d doubt.

If that is his condition then you'd have to think that the board would have indicated they'd be open to discussing/accepting it for him to bother to make the trip.

 

Unfortunately, you're probably right. Would love it if he stayed though.

 

So he should en all. Leave team set up, tactics etc etc to someone who knows what they’re on about, instead of folk pretending to play football manager. That’s half the problem IMO.

Agreed. Play him at right wing back and he’d be one of our better players.

Could easily see him going to any of the teams that have come down to league 1, in particular Huddersfield (for obvious reasons).

 

To be honest I wouldn't really want a manager to have full control.
Most successful modern clubs are set up in a way that the manager has a say on recruitment, but their main role is to coach players and set the team up for matches.
That way you can have a more coherent style of play throughout first team and academy and recruit according to that style. Makes more sense to me than having to tear up the script and start again every time the manager does leave.

 

2 of the 3 were free anyway. It’s just Kane who we paid a transfer fee. Can’t understand the logic of using one of his years contract to send him out on loan (as we did with Mowatt) unless we got a loan fee for doing so.

 

All next seasons lg1 opponents will be begging him to stay. He contributed well to our goals against column.
