The only comparison is if Wednesday were within a chance of winning the Premier League and we had an outside chance of Champions league, and not for the first time. Obviously it’s pie in the sky, but I’d still want Barnsley to win. But would take huge comfort in losing.
Its just getting their excuses in early - they expect to lose and are justifying it as a deliberate attempt to stop Arsenal I think the vast majority of their fans look to their teams performance first like most fans of any other team Personally I want Arsenal to win the League over City and Villa to get the champs league over spurs - I think I've a good chance of one of those - not so sure about both but in all honesty I dont really care As for the likes of Wednesday Im happy when they fail but I wouldnt trade a Barnsley result - especially one that mattered, maybe if we were mid table and on the beach but definately not if we had something to play for
Very happy City won, I can't stand Arsenal fans, or really Arsenal any more. Even nicer having one of our own hopefully winning it again. Absolutely embarrassing from Spurs fans singing like that when 2-0 down, especially considering there won't actually be a 5th champions league spot anymore with it going to Germany with how well Dortmund have done, they needed that win to stay in it against Villa. They may even finish lower yet. Awful from Spurs.
Yeah its pathetic that the Tottenham (not Spurs) fans think that, but we're all as bad sometimes, as footy fans. For example, how many of our so called fans have thought this season (and haven't had the guts to post it)... that they would rather see us keep losing, to bring about the sacking of Neil Collins.
I find the mindset of Spurs fans baffling. If they won last night I had them as favourites to get 4th. Palace are on fire at the moment & probably the 3rd best side in the league currently. I expect them to beat Villa at home on Sunday & I’d expect Spurs to beat Sheff Utd (or at least I did before it became a dead rubber). I get it if Spurs had nothing to play for but to just give up on champions league football is bizarre. They’ve missed a huge chance as well. Newcastle & Man Utd will probably never have as many injuries as they’ve had this season ever again & Chelsea are only going to get better. Spurs really needed that extra money that they get from champions league football. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re 8th or lower next season.
You are having a laugh, no proper Barnsley fan would think that in the position we were in, think most fans though he might take us into the championship but there you go
