As they say styles make fights and I fear this may make a dull fight, hope I'm wrong. Neither outcome would surprise me.
The annoying thing is if any of us were in Saudi Arabia & was caught on camera assaulting someone we would be locked up. That idiots walking round like nothings happened & getting interviewed by Sky, TNT & Dazn. It’s ridiculous
A big problem for Fury that doesn’t seem to get mentioned is that Usyk is a southpaw. Apart from possible journeymen when he was coming through he hasn’t really fought any southpaws since getting to British level or above apart from Otto Wallin who gave him a torrid time & could’ve easily won the fight by TKO with the terrible cut he gave Fury. His big wins have come against an ageing Klitschko & Wilder who albeit are top fighters everything they do comes off of a one-two where they’re looking to land the big right hand. Usyk couldn’t be more different in style to these two. The Wallin fight is the best example of how Usyk gets to Fury.
Worse than that, he's actually milking it. Calling himself a 'warrior' etc. Picking on the smallest one in the group. Coward and bully.
Nothing what’s happened before will be relevant when the bell goes. I personally can’t see anything else but a Fury win. Usyk is class and one of the greats, but Fury is just too big. Fury is streets ahead of Dubois and Del Boy, who Usyk did have a tough time with, can’t see him surviving if Fury gets an opening. Whatever happens tonight Usyk is in the hall of fame. Fury wins tonight people need to start respecting him as one of the best ever at heavy weight. I have a feeling though, once he does win tonight people will be saying how he should beat a Cruiserweight anyway. Flip side, there is a rematch clause for both fighters, so don’t rule out a controversial draw.
Fury with the KO. A good big man usually beats a good small man. I think Fury got a kick up the butt for this fight after his last outing being lucky to get the decision.
Dubois won one round on my card & quit with another 5 rounds left. Chisora didn’t win a round after the 3rd against Usyk in my opinion. Both were pretty conclusive. Just for context. Fury had a far tougher time with Chisora first time round than Fury did. He was rocked several times. He also had tough fights with McDermott, Pajkic, Firtha, Cunningham, Wilder, Wallin & N’Gannou. Fair enough if you just think Fury is too big & will use his attributes to win but if you judge it on having difficult fights with other opponents then Usyk’s got to be your winner every time who’s had far less tough nights, hasn’t been put over & hasn’t sustained cut damage.
Genuinely can't call it If either fighter turns up to their best they could take it. Been waiting for weeks for this and can't wait Hope it's as good as it hyped up to be and not a fight of dancing around the ring. I don't particularly want either to win, just hope it's a good clean scrap and may the best man win.
He looks abit nervous fury imo, I hope he does it to get the belts back to England but at times he's not a very likeable person nor is his dad.
The only true heavyweight & proper fighter in the Fury camp is his wife Paris, an absolute gem of a woman, how she puts up with him, his dad & looking after all the kids I’ll never know. After watching that Netflix documentary I fear for her when he inevitably realises he’s not a great boxer anymore, which I predict will be tonight.
I think elements of it are. I think certain judges will favour the home promotion & score generously to that promoters fighter. For example tonight, if it’s close I’ve no doubt Fury will get the decision. We’ve seen Usyk beat AJ twice & it doesn’t sell a third time. Everyone involved barring team Usyk wants Fury - AJ next. I’m not saying they’ll outright rob him but I don’t think he’ll be getting awarded the rounds if they’re close. One of the judges scored the second Usyk - AJ fight to AJ which was ridiculous. I don’t think fighters are going out there & taking dives in meaningful fights but I do think journeymen may well stay down or have their corners pull them out in certain rounds to win money on it. I also think fighters who know they are levels above an opponent will take them out in a specific round to win bets. A great example of that is David Haye against Audley Harrison. He was that sure he could take him out whenever he wanted that he told all his mates to back round 3. He barely threw a punch for 2 rounds & then as soon as round 3 started he went after Audley & you could see George Groves & the rest of his team going absolutely crazy at ringside.
Both natural spoilers which doesn’t make for a great watch Think Fury will lean on Usyk for the duration of the fight and win on points , outside chance of a Fury knockout in later rounds
