Unpopular opinion. I’d take Wildsmith if we can afford him. Kept about a million clean sheets last season in this very league.
Bring them all home as an experienced spine of the side others can learn off. Keeper: Wildsmith or Davies. Defence: Roberts. Midfield: Hourihane. Attack: Rhodes. We won't though it's just a thought.
Had a read on their forum the other day, and a lot of their fans put his clean sheets down to the defence in front of him. Eihran Cashin for one has been playing well below where he should be for the past 2 seasons. Said he's still making quite a lot of glaring errors. We certainly need to tighten up defensively, I just think there's better keepers out there available.
I'd take Davies and Roberts for their experience and Hourihane as player coach for his knowledge and connection with the fans. No real need to be playing anything more than 45 mins per game if he gets the coaching bit right.
Just got the same feeling as when the girl I fancied in 6th form dumped her boyfriend. Just hope I'm not going to feel the same despair I did when she decided to go out with my best mate instead of me (although I did eventually get frisky with her behind our local on my 17th birthday, but I digress).
It's the best chance he's going to have to ever come back. He's said a few times he wants to come back at some point. He won't have a better opportunity than this to return. Player coach deal should be the perfect scenario for all parties.
Perfect time to come back. Even if he does only play 30 games, the experience he would bring could be invaluable. Particularly to Luca.
Probably not but he's shown an interest in moving into coaching when his playing career is over, if we're savvy enough we can use that to our advantage and offer to fund his coaching badges/ give him experience like he's already been getting coaching our under 16s/ offer him a role when he hangs his boots up. If we want to, we can play it smart that way.
