    I think it’s quite sad that now we can’t have any news without hearing about it a few weeks before the announcement.

    Imagine the buzz and excitement we’d have if suddenly, out of the blue, it was announced that Stendel or Hourihane were coming back?

    Can you imagine how much worse it would be without the speculation? The club would be torn to pieces more than it currently is.

    Right appointment or not, DS and Hourihane returning certainly has changed the mood on the socials, which can only be a good thing. The #barnsleyfc tag on Twitter was venomous.

    It smells to me a little bit like when we appeased the fans by appointing Hendrie after Wilson left. Popular move, but not necessarily the right one.

    I'd have been happier if Duff was returning. Stendel's record, apart from the 2018-19 season, isn't overly impressive.
