Makes sense if he actually does still live in area.

Issue is will the board want to sign 2 over 30s in same window. They never usually sign one let alone multiple.

I loved Marc Roberts the first time around, it’s always good to have a local lad in the team and admit his experience would be a benefit.

But he’s past it and only going to get worse. We already have an abundance of CBs who aren’t cutting the mustard. Do we really need another?

He’s rubbish, I would have preferred the board to have made the effort to keep Kane :D:D

A bit of experience at the back??

I can't understand how anyone would not have him looking at what we currently have...

Can’t say that I’ve seen him play for a few years. Is he still any good or is the clamour based on his last time with us/being a local lad?

If you mean that he's past his peak then I agree but if you think he's past being able to play as a professional footballer then I don't. I think he'd be good in League One. We were bullied at times last year, were weak in the air and were poor defending corners and set pieces. I don't think those things would happen anywhere near as often with him in the side. Physically powerful teams got promoted this year, we need more strength and he'd help provide it and he's certainly stronger than other CBs we have on the books - with the possible exception of Pines. All imo of course.

It's more for the influence around the dressing room for me and some organization.

I don't think the CBs we have are that terrible as players. I just think they were not coached well for one, but also massively lacked a leader back there to help them out. Having Robbo around the team playing where needed I think would bring the likes of MDG etc on leaps and bounds like it did with Mads when we had Sollbauer.

Sollbauer didn't play every game, certainly not when Val came in, but when he did he kept everyone organized.

Jude wishes he could do a backwards pass or square ball as good as Herbie.

Is that right? He had a month out with a calf injury in March but was was either in the starting 11 or on the bench for 30 games last season and that after being left out for a period when Rooney was trying to introduce a different style.

I think he would be open to the idea of coming back..

But realistically do you see this current board signing two over 30 year old, free agent or not.
