Yep it's only taken a decade of completely ignoring financial rules to do it... proper fairy tale. Although they could win league 2 next season.
Tried to join Woolley golf club last month, they said sorry you have to join waiting list, that’s club integrity that is
Huge well done to Stones for playing and winning at this level, but on a club level, honestly don't get the huge praise put on the likes of City for basically buying their way to titles. Same with Lance Armstrong who was mentioned earlier. Drug cheat end of.
Doubt it will happen. I read a piece on X today (therefore it must be true) that the outcome of charges against Man City is been discussed at Embassy level with the scale of potential punishment likely to lead to diplomatic issues and tit-for-tat measures. Extreme I know, but shows how much big, big money talks
Because if it was that easy, Chelsea and United would have won it last few years mate. I do agree though, but there's absolutely no way you can take it away from individual players. What they have achieved is outstanding. Its not like they themselves are doping or taking enhancement drugs. As someone mentioned above though, this is why states shouldn't own clubs. If ever they get in trouble....
TBF, its not like they themselves have been *caught* taking enhancement drugs. Lance Armstrong got away with taking drugs for years while he was still riding - and there have been rumours about dodgy doctors in Spain and other countries working with footballers...
Not a chance its happening over here, with this many people involved. Its not like they ultra high intensity football like Liverpool, they win it back quick but aren't quick in position.
I think it's very naive to assume there's no doping in football. Cycling is a sport where the checks are more rigorous and the financial rewards much lower, and yet they're all at it, so why wouldn't it be prevalent in a much more lucrative sport?
I think there's 1000% doping in football mate. Just not in the premier league with a whole squad. Certainly wouldn't surprise me lower down where money is more of an issue when clubs and livelihoods could go bust. Certainly wouldn't surprise me if its still done in Spain with all the shady stuff going on too, I think the italians got walloped plenty for it as well. Obviously I shouldn't say no chance. There's always a chance. But I'd be very surprised
