Just to get some rumours going again - not that they have ever stopped. As it's all gone quiet over there in the boardroom, I am wondering if we are in the market for someone like Maric, who is coaching in Germany with Borussia Dortmund currently, but was on the coaching staff at Leeds, so knows this area. Rumour is that he wants to get into management in the EFL, but that Sunderland have been giving him the once over. Maybe we are caught up in the merry-go-round of someone like this, who is being linked with other clubs, but these clubs have not yet appointed. Maric looks as though he would do the business for us. He's still young at 31 and would certainly choose Sunderland over us, but if they appoint, say, Hecky, then we might be his next choice. Perhaps this sort of merry-go-round is the reason that we are hearing nothing from the boardroom. Maric would be a good bet. Watch him rocket up the betting stakes now.
There's certainly a case for some of the German coaches who have been part of coaching set ups in the UK, Rohl at Wednesday the latest example having spent time at Southampton.
