It does make me chuckle seeing some fans go mad for a manager like Williamson, British based, young, some efl experience... until they've watched 2 games of his and now he's the worse thing since sliced bread
We don't want Williamson. His football is the same as Collins. Not for me one bit. Want someone who plays attacking football that can get you excited. Fast tricky players. Opposite of what ive seen with Williamson.
Horses for courses. It's where you find a fit. Once they're appointed I get behind em' after my grumble. I'll even call for their head after the Carabao Cup exit. However, once transfer window shuts and I see what he's got to work with I mellow. Think Collins was treated badly. What we did to him was up their with some of the worst things I can think of at a human level. We basically said no manager is better than you. It's worst insult in footballing terms.
Williamson was appointed half way through the season, inherited a slow ponderous squad, so how do you expect him to play with fast tricky players if they didn't have any?
Exactly why I'd give him three games before marinading the ceremonial sacking ham and three more before sacking him and eating the lovely ham.
Is conor still coming? Getting abit embarrassing now 3 turned down approaches. I don't understand the negativity towards Williamson took over mk dons in 16th in October got them 4th by end of season did well at gateshead. I'll give anyone a chance it's more of who we bring in or is the man just another punch bag for poor recruitment.
Just to play devil's advocate, a clever coach/manager would not choose to play a style the group he had couldn't do. If you knew you had a slow ponderous squad. You wouldn't play a high line with wing backs well up the field.
Especially when it's a different done deal to the done deal already mentioned by another poster as a done deal.
Because they won't admit that they read a random comment on twitter and just repeated it as "I've heard"...
