Big Val get's a season in front of the fans, £5m release clause; gets a tune out of Styles who we sell for £10m in January.
    What's not to like ;-)

Sadly, I think he'd fail. 1 dimensional tactics have a very limited lifespan. It had already run out by the time he left.

I really dont like the idea of his style of football without the win rate.

We had an amazing season with him. Coming back would only tarnish that.

Id love him to come back and he'd have every single player knowing their jobs down to the very last detail which would be an improvement on last season.

We won almost 50% of our league matches last season and sacked the manager. What level of winning is enough to not be rubbish?

A less successful ex manager that clearly enjoyed his time in the town more than val just turned us down to manage a reserve team. If you think we are going to get anyone in that has any experience or pedigree you’re going to be disappointed. At this point I’d have honestly rather given Collins a few seasons to see if he can build something

Collins seems to be a better manager now than what he was 5 weeks ago.

I don't know I didn't choose to sack Collins that was the board that chose to do that.

I was just replying to a comment that his style was crap even tho it got us our highest finish in decades.

Yup - he got sussed out near the end.

And WBA and Watford show he wasn’t able to replicate it either.

A special time at the club - but that’s all.

We've already been turned down by one former head coach living off one good season. We don't need to go and get turned down by another.

Think he was doing okay at West Brom, they fell off properly after they sacked him & had Steve Bruce at the helm, they dropped outside playoffs. They were in 5th iirc when he left, then finished midtable that season & the season after. Only regained some form with Corberan at the helm.

Watford job was crap though - but I think it was a no brainer for him. Go there, do well, you'll get a great job elsewhere, but if you don't do well, because it's that much of a basket case club, it rarely has an impact on future jobs! :D

At this point big Val would be pretty much the only realistic option that would entice me to get another season ticket. Maybe Warnock too. The fact that managers are turning us down is alarming.

So you won't accept anyone who hadn't been here before?

Beats me why some are making a big deal about DS ( apparently) turning us down.
It’s not like he’s settled with his family in his own country and enjoying himself with probably less pressure. So it reasons it must be us at fault! …..oh wait a minute!
