The last “Clarke” to manage Barnsley didn’t do too bad.

Hopefully this one doesn’t do too bad either. Bit before my time but heard some on here suggest it’s one of their favourite times watching Barnsley under Alan.

Give him chance. Looks to have good pedigree and a more attacking style than Collins with more intensity.

Hopefully the older ones of us can suggest some old “Clarke” songs to sing.

    BBS it’s down to you!!!

I remember us playing Hull away once.
(Our record was incredible during the late 70's/80s into the 90's)
"Allan Carkes red and white army" chimed up. Half then other half of supporters in turn continued with the longest rendition of a chant I can ever remember. Incredible how long it went on for. In both halves of the game.

We used to sing a song that asked him to wave to us, and when he did, we'd sing another asking him to do it again. Then we'd cheer when he did.

Very homo erotic times were the 70s and 80s.

It was fantastic first time around, really not so good the second.

So, Clarke Out, will resonate with some....

He brought Ronnie Glavin to Oakwell, I doubt the new guy will get such a break.

He wasnt that bad second time to be fair, just nothing like the impact he had first time - but dont forget for his second stint we were 2 leagues higher than when he joined us first time. I saw my first ever promotion under Clarke ( and second with the team he built but Hunter had playing great football)
Nothing much happened with his second stint

First time was a bit before my time however I reckon you are being a bit unfair on his second stint.
The club didn't have a pot to piss in but he cobbled together a decent squad of journeyman and young lads from here and cast offs from other clubs to manage a couple of midtable finishes and a play off near miss.
Stank the gaff out the season he got the hook minsthi........sithi.
