Bransley Fotball Klub ar prood too announse Daryl Klark has knew hed coatch

In all seriousness I've no idea if he will be any good or not, only time will tell but there were far worse names being mentioned so I don't see why anyone is overly critical of his appointment.

Darrell, good luck, I hope you're here for a long time. Be honest with the supporters, don't sugar coat things or take us for fools pretending we've played well when we haven't. Say it as it is. Do that and try to play attacking or entertaining football and the fans will take you in as one of our own. Good luck and do what you know you can.

Yeah but then Basil Fawlty came in and ruined it with a dead kipper, in his pocket! (and we've all done that now haven't we). :D

He comes across as positive, passionate and driven in his interview. You can't help but warm to him.

Welcome to Barnsley Darrell and all the best.

I really don’t understand those saying it’s an underwhelming appointment. The guy has hundreds of games experience in the efl, he has a pretty good record at some clubs that might be considered less fashionable.

Who or what did people expect?

It might not work out of course, these things are always a gamble - but looking from the outside there’s nothing wrong with this appointment whatsoever. Ticks all the boxes.

I've just read his Wiki page. He's not had an easy life, he's come through some sad personal experiences. To come out talking like he does in that interview, he is some driven personality.
If he fails here it won't be through lack of trying or commitment. Best of luck Darrell. Take us with you.

We obviously don't know how this is going to pan out but uniting the fan base behind a passionate and all-in no nonsense kind of guy is a bloody good start. I am getting really good vibes that we have got a good one. After all the negativity, this is really good news. All the best to him, hope he does really well and is here for years.

You can if you want rid, there are ways even if it’s to settle up the contract.

We're surprisingly expensive. Well, it's not that surprising considering how incapable most people seem to be of doing it competently!

I think our board may get the odd decision right now and again. It almost looks like they have followed a bit of a process / plan.

It's not Pep or Klopp or the League 1 version of them. Some will only be happy with a name in the dugout.

Personally I'd rather have a manager who has a plan, can make changes when needed and has the ability to move the club and his career forward. If he leaves in two or three seasons with us in a better place than we are now I'll be happy enough.

Seems a good bloke. That’s enough for me for now. We need to rebuild all elements of our club. We need to re-establish the link between fans and team between club and community. Let’s hope Darrell can be a vital part of that.

    Welcome on board DC.

I was unsure this morning when I first heard the rumours but the more I've read about him and listened to him, the more I think this could be a shrewd appointment by the board. We should get behind him and hopefully the hierarchy back him with some decent players. Good luck to him.

No they don't.. the only way they leave is on their own terms.. ie they want paying off and have somewhere else to go.. otherwise you are stuck with em.. you keep your eyes open this summer and see how much of the 'dead wood' moves on if they they've no where else to go..

All the best ..looking forward to the new season now…we have good players and a spine of a promotion team and I’m sure he’ll get the best out of them…just tell it how it is and don’t sugar coat abysmal performances and you will gain the respect…please make oakwell a fortress once again!!!

You’ve only got to look at his past record to see it happens.
16 released at Bristol Rovers, 23 at Walsall, you can’t surely believe all of them wanted to leave?
You said yourself paying off is one way. It does happen

Aww I wish, but that seems like it's so far away at the moment Halan.
I also think we could be a 2nd tier team again as well, not 3rd tier like we are at the moment. But most of that depends on who is running the club as well. :(

I am genuinely well pleased with this.
I had never even heard of him until this afternoon but all I have read and heard, since then, fills me with confidence.
One comment, I have read, is that he doesn’t have a set formation, but that he studies the upcoming opposition then chooses the right formation best suited to play against that team. This, in turn, leads to much squad rotation.
This is new and exciting territory for us and I already can’t wait for next season.
