Don't get why anyone would employ him as manager

There's some really barmy stuff going on in the managerial appointment world at the moment. This doesn't seem a good fit for neither party for me. Rooney absolutely needs a good job next, a steady, safe job where he can rebuild his reputation and try to get some momentum going. I'm one of seemingly few people who thinks he may well still be a decent manager, but taking on a side who will be fancied for the drop, a team that very nearly went down last season and probably can't invest much this summer, it's a hell of a risk. If he has them near the bottom 3 and gets sacked, he may not come back from it. As for Plymouth, well they're taking a huge risk aren't they? I wish em both well but it feels odd to me. Not as odd as Kompany at Bayern admittedly.

Fair play to him. He doesn’t really need the stress, or abuse he constantly gets. Can just enjoy a nice life and do punditry. But he keeps giving it a go.

Hope for both him and the club it’s a success this time. Good luck to them.

It’s not his fault the media give the club he’s managing as much coverage as they do.

Completely agree with your point on Rooney, bud. Yes, it could be a massive pay off for him if he performs, but I think he needs a 'safer' job because I do think his reputation will be massively tarnished if he fails miserably like at Brum.

Disagree with your point on Kompany though, I think he'd do a great job there with the football he plays. In a dominant team, it works, his Burnley side in the championship was exceptional, ran rings round every body. He played the same style in the Premier league and clearly had nowhere near the squad to stay up playing that way. But I really do think playing it with Bayern would work. If he doesn't get the Bayern job though, and has to work his way up, he really needs to find another way of playing. It's beautiful football he plays but when they're getting trounced, he needs another way of playing if they're to retain their league status.

He'll be giving Steve Evans a run for his money soon. He's making me feel like twiggy.

I’ve always felt like Twiggy, but I doubt she’d be interested. She lived around the corner from me (except she was there in the sixties and me in the eighties).
