Plus there's the drip drip drip of the Mads money.. may not be enough to go out and buy a player but it may just stop us having to sell one.. But to be realistic it's probably down to the player, if they want out then that's that.
It's all dependable really if the right offer comes in for 1 player and allows us some breathing space in terms of strengthening 2 or 3 positions then I guess it would be considered. One of the things this board has got right is selling players for the right price at the right time, I don't think anyone can accuse them of selling for peanuts. How those players have been replaced is another matter, there's always risks with any signing but we could and should have done much better last summer.
I was trying to suggest that they identified Connell as a decent prospect so they tied him down to a longer term contract. Might not have phrased it well. They do need to think long and hard about the way they structure contracts I think as well as having a better modus operandi about recruitment.
