Yes never understood the rave reviews about Cadden. Never looked fit at any point during his time with us. He reminded me of Pedro Porro at Spurs. Why we persisted with him as a full back I don't know. I'd have played him forward and changed to 4-4-2 as he never tracked back.
Even then, when he was asked about working with existing staff and gave a glowing speech about Disco, he could have mentioned Stead. I think it's pretty telling he didn't.
Enjoyed his time here as a player, been coaching one of the youth teams while working toward his qualifications
Didn't enjoy it enough to snub Derbys extra bits of silver when we were allegedly interested in signing him a couple of years ago though.
Who said he was? Are we to presume that some of the players who have signed for us when better contracts have been available elsewhere are thick then?
With all this talk about him returning as a player coach, are people just assuming that the coaching side will be 1st team? Could he not be considering coming back as an U21 team coach? Just a thought.
Ideally you have a head coach and an assistant head coach (Devaney) who oversee the whole training regime then 1 coach for each section of the pitch for specific drills. We've got stead for Strikers and Fawdry for GKs, I'd assume Devaney would be working with MF if need be but wouldn't hurt to have Connor come in and learn on the job from them. To be honest though him coming in would probably mean exactly that as he's still got badges to earn over the next 12 months and most of his coaching will probably be done within the academy setup.
If I’m honest I see the “coaching” side of his role as more of a work experience type gig than him being part of the management set up. He still doesn’t have his badges so I imagine he’ll offer his expertise and experience to the team and be a leader in the dressing room and after training he’ll probably run some sessions with the kids or hold extra set piece session if anyone wants to join etc.
