Imagine the uproar at bringing in Kompany as new manager.

• Foreign
• Relegated in last role
• Plays tippy tappy football
• Doesn’t know the league
• Managed in the Belgian League

 

I’d imagine they have those fans saying those same things.

However, majority of them like us would be wishing him success. I do believe most Barnsley fans have welcomed the new gaffer, those who moan would have an issue with anyone getting the job. There’s no reason to slag this lad until he lets us down on the pitch.

 

Wasn’t drawing a parallel with Clarke, more with Thalhammer.

 

Thalhammer didn’t have a playing career at a top club with numerous major honours, didn’t play for and captain his country for over a decade, nor win four manager of the month awards in his first season managing ‘abroad’.

Ok he got relegated - with a poor squad unable to play the style that got them promoted - but the style Bayern want.

Kompany will do well there.

 

Lots of players had fantastic playing careers that went on to do FA in management.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, but was just drawing parallels with comments that were made on here and on twitter/facebook.

Just a bit of a laugh holding up a mirror to ourselves.

 

No doubt he'll do well there. They're the biggest club in the league. Question is, did he deserve a job of that magnitude this early in his career?

 

Hard to say he’s “earned it” but Bayern must think he’s the best candidate, it’s not like they would struggle to get managers to work there.

To be fair I only know about it because I follow Fjortoft on Twitter. Apparently Alonso, Rangnick, Nagelsmann turned them down, they've then asked Tuchel to stay and he's said no as well.

Starting with Monk bretton ladies u14s. Now playing in the u10s league with 18yr olds. When was the last time you won a game. ?

Yes but what kind of fool would embrace all those things..? Half a dozen who they actually wanted turned them down because they are a s'hit show at the minute.. remind you of anywhere..?
