I had a photo with him last night in The Garrison,he was wearing the old yellow ISOFT shirt.I've met him before at Oakwell he really is a smashing young man.He said about the fight at Oakwell that theres just a couple of things to sort out.Bring it on.
Isn’t that too late for this summer? Assuming they can’t announce anything until they get clearance on the 4th of July. I can’t see how they can announce a stadium fight & stage it within a month as it’ll need to happen before the football season starts. It doesn’t give them long to shift tickets.
Licensing Act 2003 groups boxing and wrestling together, so you apply for a licence for Boxing and Wrestling even if the only intention is to host one of those.
Hopefully. I know they did it with the Spurs stadium & Joshua but every other stadium fight I can think of Brook at Brammal Lane, Bellew at Goodison, Warrington in Leeds & Campbell Coyle in Hull have all taken place in the off season.
They don’t have to wait until licensing is completed to start selling tickets. I’d expect the fight to be mid July. Take my money if it is.
Is Callum Simpson a big enough draw for a football stadium yet? I know it's not exactly Wembley but that still requires shifting thousands of tickets to make it work.
Seems a good bloke and speaks well of the town. Not really my thing but could be tempted as long as ticket prices are sensible
Is his next fight for the British title? I've never been to boxing but would definitely go to this. I imagine there would be 1000s of Barnsley fans there.
Good question. I don't know the answer. Also, and don't get me wrong; I'd love to see him fight at Oakwell BUT don't fight tickets tend to be pretty expensive, though compared to Football? I just wondered if we think we'd get a good crowd if it was quite a pricy ticket.
Huge fights and events on the worldwide stage yes (paid 600 for ufc tickets this year and probably the same when they come out on Wednesday). However I did pick up tickets for Fury v Whyte at Wembley, 11 rows from the ring for £125. As this is national level I’d assume tickets would go from anything £40 and above.
