When they started playing it I did say to Will ‘have Wembley only got one song?’ I think his point was just that they play it immediately every time after the final whistle.

I'm okay with locals bantering with leeds fans but at my local in Elsecar . You've got deluded man united fans trying to dish banter out at Leeds fans. Bizarre...

What I think is deluded is Leeds fans thinking they still have some sort of rivalry with Man United

I used to say the same thing, but man united do sing about leeds and their fans a lot. Same with Chelsea actually. I think it got mild during Leeds' era in league one and in the pits of the championship, but over the last few years its certainly ignited again!

Remember in the days of Clarke and Hunter and Bremner & co, when Leeds best Southampton 7-0. In season '72 I think ?.
There was none of that tom foolery in front of goal today lol.
Just a hard working Saints team who did enough to win, just about. And well done once again to Adam Armstrong. :)

Leeds United's fúcked it up again :D

Leeds United set a record they wanted to steer clear of with their defeat to Southampton.

They have now played in a record four play-off finals without managing to secure promotion. :D

Just off the top of my head
Lost to Charlton in the original playoff system final over 2 legs circa 87/88
Lost to Watford in playoff final at millennium
Lost to Millwall in L1 playoff semi
Lost to Doncaster in L1 playoff final
Lost to Derby Champ playoff semi
Lost to Southampton champ playoff final.
Lost fa cup final to Liverpool
Lost fa cup final to Chelsea
Lost fa cup final to Sunderland
Lost League cup final to Aston villa
Lost European cup final to Bayern Munich
Lost European cup winners cup final to Milan
Lost inter cities fairs Cup to Zagreb
Lost 5 league titles finishing 2nd

Basically won 1 Fa cup, 3 league titles, 1 league Cup and 2 defunct inter cities fairs cup.

As overrated as falafel, infact chewing tastless cardboard falafel probably scores better than Leeds Utd.

I thought it was a pretty poor game with few moments of quality. Not the best advert for the Championship, but that’s not a criticism as it was obviously a huge game with lots at stake so more effort over quality.

I think Leeds end of season had a similar feel to ours, in that they were in the chase and fell away badly. The Norwich second leg probably buoyed them, but today’s performance was probably more typical of where they’ve been at for weeks.

Doncaster was definitely my favourite play off defeat for Leeds especially as half of Doncaster seem to be Leeds fans. That was a proper humbling.

Yesterday was great. I feel like everyone in the media & Leeds fans had taken it for granted that they were going up after the Norwich victory.

I’ve no idea why, Southampton only just finished below them, they beat Leeds home & away & had better recent form. They were slight favourites to me.

Such a shame that they will lose some of their best players now!

I think leeds fans bring the hate on themselves with the arrogant attitude. Asif they were already up, claiming thousands of their fans had seats in the Southampton end, claiming Sunderland had made up there home attendance stats and Leeds had the best home support.

But to be fair and as usual we're only talking about a tiny minority, the vast majority of Leeds fans are just like the vast majority of fans everywhere.
Trouble is their tiny minority will add up to a bigger number of gobshites than usual and therefore make a lot more noise.
