But he's probably all but financially secure for life already, so £5k a week or £8k a week for him is very unlikely to be a decisive factor at this stage.
Think that's a bit unfair at this stage of his career mate As mentioned he will be financially secure. He may still have mates, family, connections here. He might just want to come back to a place where he's welcome and not having to prove himself to the fan base. Loyalty. Think there's a lot more too it for him now. However. If we offer 5k a week and Birmingham offer 20k+ a week, then he'd be daft to come here!
Don't people ever go on 'feel' an intuition. You get a 'feel' for a place or a person where you couldn't careless about money.(As long as you've enough to live on of course) it just feels right.. a contentment. Even if some of the men on here don't the women must surely.. that feeling can also be an inner alarm.. when things don't feel right as well. But even on a practical level That would depend on how much that person is a slave to money. If the job at 70k involves uprooting your family who are settled where they are. Then it would be a no brainer 50k every time.. I've actually moved jobs for less money in my time.. still had enough.
Agree, I could have moved onto better pay. In fact one of my colleagues did. Returned within 6 months. The role didn't pan out as thought. Some People think money is the be all and end all. Job satisfaction has a massive bearing. I loved mine. Until during the latter yrs. The upper levels of management shifted job responsibilities. Chuffin clueless.
Agreed but other family members may have other ideas, like wives and partners. Plus i have taken less money, but every one doesn't think the same. .hammill is probably the same he would have stayed at Barnsley for less money, or might even have come back
We might not have to and probably don’t though. Same as there is no way Derby offered him close to what he was on at Villa but he joined them.
Indeed. I was offered a role by my employer about a month or so ago. More money, but the job involved more strategic/policy type stuff, spending all your time in meetings it seemed, I nearly fell asleep reading the job description! Thanks, but no thanks.
I switched from management in what was part of the NHS after it was sold off to DHL to being a postie in rural Cheshire. Reduction in salary about £3k p.a. Reduction in stress unbelievable. Worth the trade off every single time.
