Started last Wednesday felt a little cold coming out of Meadowhall. Didn't think anything of it. Thursday was a definitely something, but nothing major. Friday just about well enough to work from home... Then I have never been so ill as I have since Saturday morning. Alternating uncontrollable shivering with mad sweats, barely able to move, eat, drink, or do much of anything. Finally back at work today - and only because I can WFH and we've got a deadline tomorrow for a bid. If I had to go to an office, it'd be next week at the earlier. 0/10. Do not recommend. Flu jab for me in future
@Scoff I had the exact same a couple of weeks back, with the same timeline you describe. Truly the worst thing I've had. Strangely my partner didn't catch it though. Even stranger though is that I also work in bids!
Hope you're 100% soon. Flu jab is a good idea. I had one last November for the first time and not had a sniffle at all over winter, which is unusual for me.
I still don't take the flu jab (at the moment), to be honest. But this worries me that with Covid always being there, lurking around in the corner somewhere. Maybe I/we should take this more seriously!.
There's been another covid variant (FLiRT) doing the rounds which seems to have sailed under the radar of mainstream media although last week, New infections were starting to reduce a little so hopefully the peak has passed. Given waning immunity and the diminished groups allowed to have a booster, I suspect symptoms will be a little worse than previously.
Me and Mrs Statis had a similar thing. Someone suggested we test for covid which I never though of, assuming it was long gone. We both tested and both had it. Still don’t feel 100%
I don't think they need to update us everytime there's a new varient its a virus that was always going to happen.
I only had flu once and was in bed for 3 days all the other times when I thought I had caught it wasn't. So I payed for the jab ever since till I got it for free for being old, best tenners worth ever spent.
I get the jab automatically through work. No brainer really. Only personal advice I can give is don't have it together with the Covid jab. Most people are fine but I was ill for two or three days.
