It's actually an extremely important communication... To allow those who are more adversely affected than others to take actions that literally go towards saving their lives.

How does anyone know anything without communication? Not all viruses affect people equally.

I can only speak personally, but I welcome that such information is put into the public domain.

Personally, I've found that taking vitamin c with zinc every day cuts the majority of cold/flu out, or drastically reduces symptoms.
I read a summary of medical studies that found that the zinc part is important.

I’ve had a Berocca, orange flavoured, every morning for many years and rarely get a cold or anything like it. A female Wing Commander that I worked with 15 or 16 years ago swore by it and I followed her recommendation. Turns out it was a very good one.

One whole squeezed lemon, 2/3 splashes of organic apple cider vinegar & chia seeds in a glass of water every morning, marvellous.

Then Extra virgin Olive oil (2 table spoons), cayenne pepper a healthy dash, cardamom seeds in a glass of water at tea time.

I think I've only ever had flu once, back in the early 90s, didn't get out of bed for a week.

Flu is serious, it's not to be sneezed at.

On a different note I find that zinc gives me very vivid dreams that are often batshit mental.

I get that but if you have a low immune system or are ill so trying to not catch anything wouldn't you just be avoiding contact with people as much as possible that's all you can do it's irrelevant how many times there's a new variant on what it's called.
Anyway good to see you back posting.

I understand what you're saying... But to put it into real life circumstances... My wife has to visit her parents 40 miles away in a care home. I try and drive her but there are some instances where I've not been able to. Which means a train and being in a care environment... That sadly generally, hasn't really evolved much since the beginning of the pandemic. She also has 8 weekly infusions attending hospital. Shes also been unwell with other conditions that gave required treatment.

Therefore its very useful to know the general backdrop and assess any change to risks and prevalence. If prevalence is high, we can adapt and literally enforce our own lockdowns.

We've changed our lives in so many ways, to the point tiny aspects of normal are incredibly liberating. I get that covid to the vast majority isn't a thing anymore, and I'm extremely thankful for that. But for us, it may always be a thing, certainly for the foreseeable, and because of that, information is extremely helpful.

    You drink Olive oil?!

Urghhh I’d be sick just thinking of it.

As for all the tablets that people suggest - hard to know which to prioritise. I hate taking tablets - makes me gip!!

    Vitamin D
    Vitamin C
    Zinc
    Potassium
    Turmeric
    Magnesium

    All recommended for various things.
    End result - I don’t take any!

I just take a cod liver oil with multivitamins tablet once a day but husband absolutely hates tablets (but needs to increase his vitamin D levels) so he has a multivitamin gummy and pretends it’s a sweet.
