    When's it happening and where?

    Won't ticket holders get displaced?

And will we need to create a tifo for Gangway 1 reds

Going to be immense for the atmosphere if it's done correctly

I went in the safe standing at Wembley. The pissed seventeen-ish looking lad behind me spent all game bouncing up and down on the barrier while shouting that Bannan was a "fucking albino cunt". The couple in front of me went for chips after half an hour. Other than that it didn't really make any difference.

I’m cynical about it. I sit in the Ponty and regularly look across to the current ‘singing section’ who already appear to stand up for much of the game but wether they sing or not depends on how we’re doing.

IMO not worth the outlay currently.

6 figure sum to implement iirc.

Invest it in the squad instead and that will bring a better atmosphere.

Those final home games under Duff had Oakwell rocking - didn’t need safe standing to create it, just entertaining and successful football.

Not against it, just not a priority.

But the club literally had to ask fans to participate in a scarf day because the atmosphere was so lacking at first with Duff. Towards the back end it was great, but things aren't always going to be great for us. I get your point and I agree with it, but for me personally, I think safe standing should be priority because when oakwell is rocking its brilliant and you can see the impact it has on players

But we have absolutely zero control over the thugs and hooligans in the Ponty end already. We are under threat of stadium closures and even at the last games of this season there was a massive brawl and pitch invasion.
To install safe standing which is harder to police than seating would be absolute madness regardless of whether or not it adds a little to the atmosphere

Two separate things arnt they the playing side and BMBC own the ground we could ask the council if they will buy us a striker but I don't think it would go down well with the non Barnsley fans.

There was plenty of atmosphere when we had our record home season under Stendel. It does tend to be when the team does well though , but I think that's the same for any club. I don't think it's something you can create artificially, it evolves. And if chants are made up for players , I tend to catch the words best when they get sung walking to the match or at away games. Since a section of the crowd want to stand I think it's a plus point to have a safe standing area, whether or not it creates more atmosphere.
