No, not Chelsea football ground but the town in North Yorkshire famous for its narrow one way bridge. Well it seems that the aforesaid bridge is now closed for repairs and will be until near the end of August. It is my preferred route to the east coast and there is apparently a diversion around it. Planning on going in a few days and I was wondering if anyone has used the diversion and what was the experience like?
Been a few times to Filey since March. Used the diversion once and traffic was backed up a bit. Best thing to do is keep google maps on or use Waze via your phone. Always finds the best and quickest way.
I live on East Coast.I travel that way 2 or 3 times a week diversion takes you through Buttercram you have to cross 2 little bridges and a transit van can just squeeze through. If anything should happen your stuck and so is everyone lives in that area. Best stick to A64 for Scarborough or M62 for Brid come off at Howden. Hope that helps.
