If it is a decent gym you should be assessed on arrival - weight , BMI , muscle etc. then given a programme to suit you. After several months you are reassessed and your programmed is upped accordingly. As someone alluded to you are on your journey and others on theirs. Go for it.
Don't worry about it mate. I think 90% of people are body conscious and most of time it's worry about nothing. I always feel like I'm fattest lad in gym but I just go and get my head down and do my work out. Ive gone from never going go a gym to now going up to 8 times a week. You'll find that people don't mind what size / shape you are, if they see you in gym working hard then there's no problem . Go and enjoy yourself in gym. Don't be afraid to speak to people round you and ask for advice.
Good place for a chat too, I go the Village hotel gym in South Leeds and it's been heaven chatting to the Leeds fans this week.
I’d get your self some ear pods get some tunes on and shut world out for 60 minutes…….if it’s weight loss/gain your after I’d suggest speaking (most likely have to pay) to someone who’s experienced in that game and follow a plan…….you can find some good stuff online for free too. As for training there’s **** loads of programmes to try online too……. Push pull legs will cover all muscle groups, this website will give a guide on what to do https://www.menshealth.com/uk/building-muscle/a38199992/push-pull-legs/ During Covid I did 5x5 every alternate day for 3 months and got in good shape, a did cardio in between too, it’s a free app you can download and is super easy to follow https://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5/ A good balanced diet that suits you is key too…..
Went on Cross trainer at top whack(22) I think for 2hours 30 mins, just thought I'd put it out there, Grrrrrrrr
You could have nearly done 4 times round the course…. probably not as quick as Jamaican Flight ??!! Do you remember him ?
My wife’s been running three miles a day for just over a week now. Last time I heard from her she was just south of Chesterfield
