I kno he's contracted to us but other than being on the retained list there appears to be no mention of him. Plays right back/ wing back..played 20+ games in lg 2 last season...just wondering if he'll be part of the new set up and benefit from our new coaches experience...

Got rave reviews out on loan last season. I think he'll get a chance.

It’ll be a clean sheet for all the players, although they’ll be input from Devaney and perhaps Bobby Hassell. So I guess all players need to be quick out of the blocks and firing on all cylinders during pre-season and early season. Can’t be a bad thing really. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cosgrove and Watters being the main strikers to start with.

Think he will get games for us this season however do we need 3 right backs/wing backs in the squad?

    O'Keefe
    Cotter
    Lofthouse

Think Cotter could be loaned out or sold.

I would say Cotter and O'Keefe have flattered to deceive, not sure either are good enough really long term.

I have in the past said if Cotter could take the ball with him he'd be great.
sadly not.O'Keefe doubles up on left to make way for Bazza so his flexibility is a plus. as were looking at left wing back to bring someone in Cotter could go on loan.

I spoke to some folk on the mk dons forum regarding Lofthouse and the common concesus seemed to be that he'd done well but had a mistake in him but it generally all sounded pretty positive.

I expect Cotter's contract to be terminated by mutual consent at some point to allow him to find a new club. I'd be very surprised if he finds one above non-league level. He's nowhere near good enough for league 1.

Can see why we took a gamble on him with his pace, but he can't control a football.

We aren't going to pay someone to have their contract terminated who has played so much for us and if we were silly enough to do that he'd have plenty of offers from Football League clubs. I wouldn't be against us selling him though if a good offer came in.
