Enjoyed last year but it wasn’t fun queuing all day for the bar. Hope all the bars have done their bit to improve that aspect. Maybe the weather will keep many away because last year it was scorching.
Some roads will be closed this year to keep things a bit safer. When venues start hitting capacity we will be putting out social media updates guiding people to venues with space.. There's a huge tipi tent in the new town square with a stage and a bar too.
Must get down to this at some point. It's always at my busiest part of the year. I'm DJing in Sheffield tonight. I know the lad who puts the tipis up. He's from Barnsley, used to work for my DJ agency in the distant past. Has done well for himself.
Also a few outdoor bars in the arcade to help with the queues, they were putting them out this morning
Anyone got any recommendations on bands to try and see. Other than most of the ones at 8pm, I've not heard of anyone else.
Gonna be a party proper here and say it looks rubbish. Venues purposely cramming too many people in to a far too small space to milk them with overpriced drinks, most likely in plastic cups. It doesn't look that safe and where is the fun when you can't move for strangers boxing you in from all sides.
Each venue will have a maximum capacity so it will be safe. By your logic of too many people with strangers boxing you in and paying too much for drinks in plastic cups being awful then you've just basically slated every festival in the world haven't you?
Had a cracking day, nowhere overcrowded, and not the longest waiting time at bars. Currently in the Picture House waiting for Civic Green and it's surprisingly quiet.
Brilliant apart from the PUBLIC square being cordonned off; no need for it, they didn't do that for Barnsley Brass.
