Why in the name of all that is holy are English people amused by this sort of thing. It's not witty, or funny, or big. It's just louts trying to be wan kers. Literally no other set of fans in the world does this.
That was my immediate reaction, daft song lyrics are one thing, but associating Stonesy with the dark arts is well off the mark
Tell you what I find odd is how obsessed we are with him and other former players he couldn’t give a monkeys about us and won’t ever be back it’s embarrassing I can’t imagine many other fanbases do this
It’s not about being obsessed, it’s about being proud of a local lad, fulfilling his potential. Will we ever see another Barnsley lad and from our Academy achieve as much as he has? I hope so, but very much doubt it.Stones will always tell people he is a Barnsley lad. We still hold Tommy Taylor in high esteem, who unfortunately was tragically taken far too early. These local lads should be celebrated
The fact that he’s got a picture of Oakwell tattoo’d on his leg also suggests he does care about Barnsley.
I'm assuming he's removed his tattoo of Oakwell then? Scholes is God as a name. You do know Scholes doesn't give a toss about you, certainly not about the club, right?!
What a weird post. John treasures his Barnsley roots, which is backed up by how often he drops back into Penistone Grammar to see the staff and kids, plus the massive tattoo of Oakwell on his leg. I don't think the idea of him winding down his career with us or using it as a springboard into coaching (if that's what he wants to do) is remotely outlandish. Objectively, John Stones has far more ties with Barnsley than Conor Hourihane.
He’s probably glad he didn’t go in the forces because I’m fairly sure with his name and where he grew up his nickname would be penis
