There were five of us watching and we all immediately had our heads turned wondering what it was. Job done.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember that either Army or Navy advert that basically depicted a guy almost drowning? From about 10/15 years ago. I struggle to believe that anyone looked at that and thought, **** it aye, I'll join the army.
Ads that work reflect the public mood. For decades they’ve tapped into our hopes for a better future and how, by buying their product we can get there. It’s all about optimism. This ad works, because it understands that optimism has gone – to be replaced by uncertainty and fear of a dystopian future where nothing will be real and there’s nothing to believe in. Except a bit of fried chicken. Funny but slightly disturbing. Took a very brave client to buy it. Most want their logo or product mentioned within the first few seconds. Companies do like to jump on a bandwagon though, so expect to see more ads about toothpaste or toilet cleaner can save you from the breakdown of civilisation.
