Can we nit pick a bit, and say that was a worryingly poor finish to the half, from us.

I can barely remember what i had for breakfast!

Could well be! It’s something i’ve never really thought about before. Not as simple as “no contact = no foul” when you actually think about it

Decent start but then reverted to the usual Southgate. I genuinely don't get the hysteria over Phil Foden at all. Might look a world-beater at Club level but always looks very ordinary for England, IMO. Bellingham, Guehi and Saka been excellent.

Good first, hope he gives Gordon a decent amount of time to run at the right side of their defence. It may be as vulnerable as the left.

Very comfortable despite the obvious issue at left back, and Foden (same flank) having another iffy game.

Impressed with Guehi and Saka in particular.

    Some header from Jude.

They massively ramped up the press for the last 20 minutes and couldn't create a clear chance. They can't sustain that pressure. They'll be exhausted by the hour mark if the come out and continue it for much longer

Maddison went missing for most of the season and didn't make the squad along with Grealish. My main worry and it still applies from the point I made before my sabbatical is we haven't got any flair. Bellingham, Rice and Alexander are decent no nonsense players nowt else.

Really unbalanced squad. Nobody can change that midfield.

Foden never plays on the left for his club so I do feel for him a bit but he has been quiet so far.

Ones one of the most recognisable footballers in the country & the others a mid-table player who spends most of the time injured. If you said Dominic people would probably be confused

It's bizarre. He's a little boy lost out of possession. It's like no one has bothered explaining the role to him without the ball and Trippier is left stranded.

I'm hoping we drive forward a bit second half. Sling some balls out to Saka and maybe bring Gordon on.

Has Harry Kane touched the ball yet? Southgate is a lucky man being able to choose from this crop. Bellingham is on another level. There should have been a red for the tackle on Saka before the goal.went in.

Did you watch the same Bellingham as me that half?

Just hope he isn't going to be the new Bryan Robson. He's a marked man.

    Brilliant run from Bellingham.

Good to see him playing further up the pitch like he does for his club. If a lot of people got their wish he’d be playing deeper & Palmer would be playing as the 10 instead & Bellingham wouldn’t be getting in them positions

I'd bring Palmer or Gordon on for Alexander Arnold, put Foden central and drop Bellingham back slightly

Haha timing. I'd still do it (well Foden as the 10) because Foden is completely ineffective at the minute and Bellingham will still be very, very good as an 8

Decent first half. Serbia's game plan is intimidation and physical. Good to see the England players give it back with interest. Saka is really on it. Shame Foden hasn't turned up so far. Bellingham. Wow. I don't get to see him living down here so he's relatively new to me. He has everything.

He's no Mitrovic though. The commentators on the Aussie stream are working themselves into a frenzy over how dangerous Mitrovic is. Every few minutes. He's had one shot that went well wide. Apparently that shows how he only needs half a chance to score.
