Can’t afford to feed your kids or heat your home because of the cost-of-living crisis? Blame it on ‘cozzy livs’ and you’re sorted. Nowhere to live? Forced to sleep anywhere that will take you in? If you get wound up by this type of thing, there's a YouTube video floating about, of someone asking Gen-Z types what all these abbreviations stand for. Personally I don't have a problem with slang. It's always happened. Just like we went lakin art at togger. I have the bigger problem with change of actual language, e.g. of for have, or people asking if they can 'get a coffee' etc etc. No. No you can't get a coffee. You can have a coffee. They will get it for you. I would imagine the vast majority of this comes from American YouTube & TikTok influence. Even though they speak English.
I think it would be a better use of energy to get irate at the Brexit and lockdown enthusiasts who caused the horrendous cost of living crisis rather than at the folk using a whimsical and mildly daft term to describe it.
