Do you think there’s a difference between the following scenarios?

    1. I hang a nazi flag on the side of my house

    2. A Nazi flag is displayed inside a museum with the words “Nazi Museum” on the front

Again, not relevant as you don't have such a flag. Well I presume you haven't but some folk have very strange taste. :D

To bring you on point, these statues were already there as a mark of history, again good or bad, they serve as a celebration or a reminder of how we have moved on as a nation.

    Don't be hysterical.
There's clearly a point in time where history becomes distant enough for it not to matter in modern life and no grudges are held. The idea someone would be offended by the Viking invasion over 13 centuries ago is of course a bit daft.

But the British empire broke up after World War 2, which let's face it wasn't very long ago. Estimates of up to 10m died as part of the Empire. Concentration camps in the Boer War, Bengal Famine, Opium Wars. Britain's wealth was greatly dependent on the actions of the Empire.

However nobody is asking you or anyone else to apologise, merely recognise the wrongs of invading, occupying and ruling over other peoples land and not get all sensitive when it's brought up.

Elgin Marbles are in by the British Museum, right? You don't knowingly accept stolen property and say, "Ahh I didn't nick it, bloke down the road sold it to me".

There was a study done that found people with an IQ below 90 were often unable to think about things hypothetically.

Not sure why, but it just popped into my head for some reason.

Agree with that one, as the Major was portrayed as the out of touch, racist bigot & I see no reason for it being edited. Such a person would be delighted Reform UK exist.

In Hyde Park, Leeds the statue of Wellington usually has a traffic cone on his head. I quite like that no one bothers removing it.

Its a myth that the Vikings did lots of raping and pillaging. There wasn't enough of them able to cross the sea at any one time to beat much more than the first village they encountered. They were however, very good at trading and settling in with the locals.

We had concentration camps in Kenya and Malaya in the 1950s - and even in Northern Ireland in the 1970s. There is also an estimated 1+ million who died as a result of violence during the partition in India...

Maybe someone real close to you undertook an IQ test? Memories can do that, also get mixed up with your own experiences.

    Just hypothetically thinking of course.

Depends on what you read. It's no wonder when so many British folk do those DNA history checks, they have a bit of Scandinavian. There were lots of them in the UK at one point.
