Sunderland confirmed that Styles will be back with us. He's got to be one they get out before the season starts, kid doesn't want to be here, hinders the team more than he does help when plays.

He should have kept his council and not made it common knowledge he wanted out.

His contract is up next year just take what we can get and move on. I should imagine he'll be one of top wage earners and gets nowhere near first team

Absolutely, he's not the first and wont be by any means the last to publicly express their desire to be out, but not many really come back from it. If he was pulling out 8/9 out of 10 when he played, maybe you forgive and forget, but he doesn't.

Good player. Hope we get a year of his best out of him as it's highly unlikely we'll purchase a player of similar experience and quality.

He should be the poster boy for BFC, instead he's more interested in anything but the club he's contracted to.

His best course of action is to stay here and play left wing back.

Two Championship clubs have kicked the tyres and decided they don't want him. I'm not sure how many offers he'd get from the other 22. It's got to be pretty embarrassing for him, having made that video back in January about wanting to get his move done for them to **** him off after 12 games.

We've done right by him, letting him go on loan and playing him in midfield so he'd make the Euros squad. If he wants to salvage his career he needs to be playing regularly in a competitive team to try and get a move on a free next summer after a decent season. Given what we'd get for him (£250000 maybe?) we might as well keep him and use him to fill a position of need.

He will be taking up a big chunk of wages though. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up abroad.

Who knows, maybe Clarke will revitalise him. Fans are fickle. A few good games and opinions change quickly. It’s gonna be tough for him though, and he’ll know that. I imagine all parties will be working to get a permanent transfer sorted.

It'll not be much as I think Bury are owed a % but, yeah, just take the money and get shut

I must say... I'm really surprised at the seeming decline of Styles. He looked like one of our best assets a couple of years ago, but he's been passed over twice by championship clubs and from limited feedback i've seen, it seems even in League 1, he's not shown a great deal of promise.

I don't know if it's attitude, if he's peaked or just a symptom of mixed messages from having so many different coaches every few months all telling him to do different things.

    Real shame though.

He's in danger of being without a club or dropping down the divisions just to get a game.

The thing is he’s still only relatively young. It’s not like he’s 27/28 and hitting his peak years. Still plenty of time for him to turn things round.

I'd imagine we made an agreement with Bury to pay them out and remove any further percentage from any deal we had with them, when they were repaying their creditors. If not, I'm fairly certain the new Bury wouldn't be entitled to anything as technically they're no longer the same club.

In a midfield with Hourianne and Connell + A. N. Other. I reckon he'd be ok. Instead of the weight of the world on his shoulders. I certainly hope so. The lad has got talent I've no doubt. Just needs to get his head straight.
When strubher then Val, put him to left back after Ludewig went back to germany totally unexpectedly, We'd no straight cover for that position. Styles made it his own. And did a very good job of it. But I still believe midfield is his best position.

He should knuckle down and concentrate on playing well for the club that owns him and stop mouthing off about a move. That's 2 Championship clubs now that have decided he's not good enough to sign on a permanent.

Only problem is because he's shot his load in public. He won't be allowed a run of mediocre performances. Best if he leaves can see him being the new boo boy.

Needs to get his head down and concentrate on doing the talking on the pitch, but I fear its all a bit too late for that at Barnsley.
