Its now official hes signed I know club announced it but until theres a photo of so called player and Alan Smith from RAO on Social Media then i dont believe its happened Decent signing that leaves us now with 7 CB. Can see Conor McCarthy leaving fairly soon
If we sold Marc with a sell on fee... Then if we've paid a fee, are we entitled to get some of that back Only kidding... Great experienced CB. And maybe joining with a view to gaining a coaching badge?? Who knows.
As much as I liked Cauley. I'm not sure where I'd play him. The goals have dried up, take away his penalties over his last season with us. 3 goals in 51 for luton. so not enough in open play for me as striker. (I'm not taking up the penalty argument as we went nearly 2yrs without one after he left) . I may have considered midfield but I think we are covered. And Conor would fight with him as to who took a penalty lol. An interesting one though as I think he still has bags of ability.
I can’t really comment on his time at Luton, as I’ve rarely seen him since he left us. I think he was injured in his first season and obviously last season was spent in the Prem. I’m just going from memory really mate. The variety of goals, especially the one touch finishes he used to gobble up. I think he’d tear it up at this level. Edit - just had a quick look at Cauleys stats and he only started 7 league games for Luton in 2 seasons. 20odd sub appearances each season, so it really hasn’t worked there for him at both of the levels he’s played for them.
If people complain about signing Roberts because of his age or that Birmingham released him then I give up. A local lad, a good player, experienced, loves this club. He will help Pines settle in to the season league and it gives time for Mael, Lopata, Shepherd to develop. For Earl having Roberts guide him talking to him can only improve Earl. Roberts Pines Earl as a starting back 3 in this league, if that's not enough for you then you are supporting the wrong club.
